Blue turquoise
Brightly glowing blue-green
The color of this beautiful gemstone varies from delicate to intense azure blue and from light to dark green. It owes its name to the trade route from Persia through Turkey to Europe (French: Pierre turquoise = Turkish stone). The blue turquoise used by BERND WOLF comes from China and Arizona. Since turquoise is brittle, it is usually stabilized with synthetic resin so that it can be cut. This allows the blue turquoise to retain its color, which would otherwise gradually turn greener.
Effect
It is said to support muscle growth, promote regeneration, and have anti-inflammatory and detoxifying effects on the body. As early as ancient Greece, turquoise was considered a protective stone for travelers. Furthermore, it is said to provide new energy, strengthen self-confidence and assertiveness, and promote inner peace and balance.
History
The oldest findings of turquoise originate from Egypt and are dated to be 8,000 years old. Pliny the Elder already mentioned it in his work "Naturalis historia." Particularly beautiful turquoise can be found in Arizona. Here, it remains a sacred stone for Native Americans to this day. Turquoise was also considered a protective stone in ancient Egypt and Greece. Therefore, it was also used as a grave offering and for the creation of art objects.
