Topaz
Fascinating blue hue
Blue topaz is a very pure gemstone that rarely has inclusions. The mineral's shades of blue are divided into three different nuances: Swiss Blue, Sky Blue, and London Blue. At the BERND WOLF manufactory, we use London Blue Topaz: a vibrant blue that is shown to particular advantage by its faceted cut. The many facets reflect the light hitting the stone, optimally highlighting the gemstone's various blue nuances.
Effect
London Blue Topaz is said to promote clarity, calm, and inspiration. Traditionally, it is considered a stone that helps its wearer organize their thoughts and discover new perspectives.
History
The origin of the gemstone's name is not clearly established: it could be named after an island in the Red Sea once called Topazos, where the gemstone was allegedly found, or it may derive from the Sanskrit word "tapaz," meaning "glow" and "fire." In the 18th century, the Schneckenstein rock in Saxony was the most famous topaz deposit and the only topaz rock in Europe.
